Old Business:
·       Tri-Health Report is not available this month because Kathy McGrath was suddenly placed on total bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. Brent and Christa have settled into their new responsibilities; therefore, the reports will return next month.
·       A beginning Pilates class will be held this summer.

Director’s Report:
·       The swimming pool “opening” duties are progressing nicely. The boiler is working; and the pool is warm (80 degrees) for the swim team to begin practice Monday. Concrete is being poured today for sleeves that will hold the new funbrellas. Funbrellas will be installed on May 25. Lifeguard classes are continuing. The guards will train in the pool on Saturday.
·       Swim Team coaches are Dave Bergan, Jonathan Bennett, Emily Howell, Katie Gorsuch, Rachel Pearson, and Mary Liz Schababerle. The swim team board and David Nichols have been meeting monthly to plan the 2007 Swim Team Championships. Plans are progressing well.
Phi Lambda Pi Report:
·       Games have included cornhole, monster volleyball, and dodgeball in the racquetball courts.
·       Five members volunteered at the Ice Cream Social.
·       Pi raised $247 selling hams this spring.
·       At least 10 members are going on the Gatlinburg trip.
·       The Inferno Competition has divided the teens into two teams, with each team trying to earn points by winning.
·       Approximately 22 of the 24 available seats for the Myrtle Beach Trip have been filled.
·       Several members volunteered at Griffin Park last weekend helping clear trails and other areas.

Open Discussion:
·       Ursaline Academy’s dive team will not use our facility this summer. The coach said thank you; but he needs a facility with two diving boards. Commission suggests we look into having diving lessons next year in addition to our swim lessons. Community interest in diving lessons will also be looked into.
·       Trail Update – The village is working on uniform street signage, and signage for the trail system. We are still investigating a crosswalk at Cooper. A map of the completed and partially completed trails would be helpful to commission members.
·       Wayne asks David just mention upcoming recreation work in his Director’s Report.
·       Mary Lou is about to receive her yoga instructor certification. She would like to sit down with David to figure out a time for her to teach yoga, at the Recreation Center, as an independent provider.
·       Update on the flex room décor project – The Public Works Department purchased a high speed cleaner for tile; and the machine is pulling the floor tiles up. The floor will have to be replaced, and this will affect the project budget.
·       Gus Janszen has sent out proposals to soccer trainers for the fall youth soccer season.

Motion to adjourn made at 8:19am by Michele Gottschlich; seconded by Wayne Mosley. Motion approved.
